No Mow May
Galway Wool handwoven in three separate pieces, with Dandelions, Clover or Grass.
Protecting and restoring local ecosystems and promoting healthy conditions for organisms to thrive can deliver enormous gains for our communities.
Engaging in the campaign No Mow May gives our native pollinator-friendly plants a chance to seed naturally and compete with grass. Longer grass provides a safe haven to protect and nurture our smaller creatures, and improve species richness, while wildflowers supply the best source of pollen and nectar for our wild pollinators.
Renewable, homegrown, natural materials used in design and manufacturing greatly reduce the need for chemicals, lower carbon emissions and increase the levels of traceability and sustainability. Purebred Galway Sheep supply an environmentally friendly, biodegradable, organic wool from their snowy white fleece. Not only can Wool products improve the quality of air in our homes, choosing native Irish Wool is also economically and socially beneficial to our farmers.
NoMowMay is an annual campaign asking everyone to put away the lawnmower during the month of May to help our native wildlife (biodiversityireland.ie).
